Valentine’s day is just over a week away, and I’m already starting to crave everything sweet and pink. My sister seemed to be in the same sort of mood, so we set out to make some yummy Valentine’s Day treats, complete with white chocolate and heart shaped fruits.
– Cupid Floats –
The first sweet we decided was a must was these simply delicious cupid floats! These are perfect to serve to friends at a Valentine’s Day party or to share with a special someone (wink wink). All you will need for this recipe is vanilla ice cream and cherry cream soda. Fill up your cup to the top (loosely) with the vanilla ice cream. Pour in as much cherry cream soda as you’d like, I usually go for about half a cup!Add a cute straw and lovey-dovey label, and they’re all set to serve!
– Strawberry Chocolate Bowls –
The next sweet treat is super simple but is a unique chocolate treat that’s bound to make an impact! After a few tries and a few errors, we made this absolutely adorable, festive chocolate bowls. You will need 2 bags of white chocolate chips, balloons and red food colouring to make these chocolate bowls (this makes 2-3 bowls).
1. Melt the chocolate chips in the microwave or on the stove on low heat. Mix together until smooth and then add a couple drops of red food colouring to achieve a pretty light pink colour.
2. Dip the balloons into the chocolate, making sure the chocolate is evenly coated and fairly thick.
3. Put the balloons on wax paper and let them harden in the freezer for about 15 minutes. Pop the balloons and you have beautiful pink chocolate bowls! You can fill these bowls with whatever you’d like, but I went for some marshmallows, strawberries (that I attempted to cut into tiny heart shapes) and chocolate chips, a.k.a the perfect combination!
I hope these treats got you inspired and in the Valentine’s spirit! Serve these two treats together for a cute treat table for two!
Owl always love you,
